Working on a rotating shift pattern, as part of a small team, reporting to the Technical Manager, it is your role to maintain, examine, repair and monitor all electrical / electronic aspects of the site systems, warehouse and offices. You will have experience of automated machinery including, conveyors, cranes, strapping/wrapping machines and packaging machines in a PLC controlled environment. Good fault finding and troubleshooting skills are essential to ensure that the Material Flow Control is maintained efficiently.
Alternate week shift pattern:
Week 1: 6am - 14:30pm (Monday - Friday)
Week 2: 13:30pm - 22:00 (Monday - Thursday), 11:30am - 8pm (Friday)
Our ideal candidate will be creative to identify improvements and to explore various options to challenges. You will be educated to a minimum ONC level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, having served a recognised electrical apprenticeship, as well as qualified to 17th edition as a minimum.
Previous experience in an electrical / electronic capacity and site related work is essential, as is experience of working in a PLC environment. You will need to have sound knowledge of The Electricity at Work Regulations, and a clean current driving license. A proficiency in PC packages is also required, coupled with good training and negotiation skills.
You will implement and monitor all aspects of electrical and mechanical work on site, as well as ensure that the plant and building are maintained efficiently.
You will also be responsible for the safe and smooth running of the HVAC, plant and equipment of the facility. This role will also include overseeing any contract work, that maintenance schedules are set; and that all relevant compliances to current legislation are adhered to. You will also be required to carry out any other duties when required, as requested by the Facilities and Site Services Manager or Operational Managers.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required to be available for call outs and shift cover during absences or in the event of any system failures.
